For over two decades, Kannywood stars have been getting married among themselves. It has to be recalled about 20 years back when the late popular actress Balaraba Muhammad married Shu’aibu Lawan Kumurci, another popular star in the same industry. This week, a well-known producer in the Kannywood industry Abubakar Bashir Maishadda followed the league by marrying one of the popular actresses Hassana Muhammad. They tied the knot on March 13th, 2022 in Kano city.
Abubakar Bashir Maishadda, the 33-year old film producer has been in the Kannywood film industry since 2012 and has featured several stars such as Rahama Sadau, Ali Nuhu, Maryam Yahaya, Sadiq Sani Sadiq, Yakubu Muhammed and others in his movies.
Some of the films he produced include; Takanas Ta Kano (2014), Daga Murna (2015), Ana Dara Ga Dare (2018), Hafeez (2019), Mariya (2019), Wutar Kara (2019), Mujadala (2019), and Hauwa Kulu (2019) He has won at least 6 awards from 2015-2020 for producing over 50 films from 2014 to the present day.
Hassana Muhammad is one of the most beautiful and decent actresses in the industry. Born in 1997, she grew up in Kaduna before relocating to Kano to pursue a career as an actress in Kannywood, the Hausa-based entertainment industry. She has appeared in dozens of movies such as Mujadala, Hafeez and Halimatus Sadiya.
Last year, a controversial topic was going round on social media about how Abubakar Maishadda broke her heart, as she claimed. She disclosed the issue to Neptune Prime newspaper, stating how she had been generous to his mother.
However, this week, these thoughts were wiped away when Maishadda publicly announced their marriage where the weeding events such as dinner have been shared with fans on social media.
The pre-wedding pictures and videos of the couple also generated condemnation from so many fans and well-wishers.
Another controversial issue that flows on social media is his co-worker Aisha Humaira, where thousands of fans have been reacting to the issue, blaming him for deceiving the decent actress, Aisha. The matter has to be traced back a couple of weeks ago when the pictures of the two were shared on social media where fans were expecting they have gotten married.
Meanwhile, Aisha has publicly rebutted the rumours, saying she’s never been in love with Maishadda let alone taking pre-wedding pictures. She has said that the pictures were for adverts they produced for one Shehu Dan Kwarai Investment firm.
Also, all of the leading ladies in Kannywood such as; Rahama Sadau, Hadiza Gabon, Fati Washa and Nafisa Abdullahi have all not wished the producer and his new bride well wishes on their social media profiles, despite appearing in numerous of his movies. Only Maryam Booth posted the couple and wished them well.
To some, this might be connected with the recent feud between Kannywood producers on one hand with Maishadda being the spokesperson, and Nazir Sarkin Waka on the other hand. Nazir has previously accused producers of sleeping with actresses before they feature them in their movies, an allegation Maishadda denied.
However, the Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPAN) has reconciled the chaos which happened between the Kannywood stars such as Sarkin Waka, Nuhu Abdullahi, Fati Slow-Motion, Nafisa Abdullahi and Ali Nuhu.
The controversial issue had thrown the Kannywood film industry into big chaos which resulted in exposing themselves to the public on the issue of a sex scandal.
After all the controversies, Abubakar Maishadda got married to Hassana Muhammad on the 13th March 2022 in Kano city, where numerous occasions were held such as dinner and Kamu.
